A man was shot and killed by police in Lancaster, PA, on Sunday afternoon, 9/13, while chasing after the officer with a knife. The Lancaster County District Attorney's office has released police body camera footage of the incident (see below). 27-year-old Ricardo Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene. It happened around 4:15 p.m. on the 300 block of Laurel Street. Police responded to a domestic disturbance call. According to the Lancaster County DA, when the officer approached the front of the residence, Munoz "immediately emerges from inside and runs toward the officer, brandishing a knife above his head, in clear view, in a threatening manner." On the body cam footage, you can see the officer running away from Munoz who is chasing after him. The officer then turns and shoots. No one else was injured.

"A police-involved shooting has significant impact on a community, as we are seeing with the large number of individuals gathering in the streets," District Attorney Heather Adams said Sunday night. "However, I am asking that all reaction be tempered as the investigation is ongoing."

"We will do our best to release details about the incident in a timely manner," DA Adams said. "We ask that acts of protest remain peaceful as violence and destruction of property will become headlines and serve no purpose for the safety and well being of our citizens and neighborhoods."

Two people were killed and six others were injured after shooting broke out at an off-campus party near Rutgers University early Sunday morning, 9/13. It happened before 1:30 a.m. on Delafield Street in New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Surveillance video shows a car pull up outside the party (see below). Four men get out of the car and quickly fire multiple shots each before getting back in the car and fleeing. Police arrived to find eight people suffering from gun shot wounds. They all were rushed to area hospitals. Two men were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where they were pronounced dead. It had been a birthday party for one of the fatal victims. Police have determined that no students were involved and the incident does not involve the university. The investigation is ongoing.

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-based Just Born Quality Confections announced that it will not be producing its Peeps marshmallow treats for the upcoming Halloween, Christmas, or next year's Valentine's Day. It will instead be focusing on meeting demand for Easter 2021. The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic forced the candy company to close down in late March and it didn't reopen factories until mid-May after introducing protocols to protect employees. "This situation resulted in us having to make the difficult decision to forego production of our seasonal candies for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day in order to focus on meeting the expected overwhelming demand for Peeps for next Easter season, as well as our everyday candies," the company said. They usually make 2 billion Peeps in 40 different varieties every year. Just Born also produces Mike and Ikes, Hot Tamales, and Goldenberg's Peanut Chews.

They are updating their own online store, but you can purchase some Peeps through a link on their page: https://www.peepsandcompany.com
