HIV Delco Boy Milton Hershey Settlement, TSA Precheck to PHL, Shooter/Robber Gets 30 - 60 Years

A settlement has been reached in a nearly year long discrimination case between an HIV positive Delaware County boy and the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Under the settlement, the school pays $700,000 to the boy and his mother. Also, $15,000 in penalties imposed by the U.S Department of Justice. The 14-year-old boy tried to enroll in the Milton Hershey boarding school. They discontinued his application because he has HIV.

Certain frequent travelers, specifically those with US Airways, can now go through security in one minute or less at Philadelphia International Airport starting Wednesday. The program TSA PreCheck will be available at Terminal C. Folks will still go through security, but will enjoy expedited screening benefits. You donâ€™t have to take your shoes and belts off, and laptops can remain in carry-ons. There are no required body scans, or pat downs, although members are still subject to random searches. You must be a U.S. Citizen traveling domestically. Certain frequent flyer members of US Airways can head to this line, as well as other participating airlines like Delta, Alaska, United and American Airlines. If you donâ€™t travel frequently, you can pay $100 to join one of the Customs and Border Protectionâ€™s Trusted Travelers programs. The airlines do not know how TSA chooses the eligible customers within these programs. Airlines do send out e-mails to customers that qualify. TSA says this is one of many efforts to do what they call risk-based security. If you travel often â€“ they know you better than others. Philadelphia International is the 24th airport to add TSA PreCheck.

A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison for a robbery and shooting he committed because he was â€œbored.â€ The victim, who was shot in the neck, is now paralyzed, but his spirit is not broken. He still has big dreams and works helping other spinal cord victims and lifting spirits. Despite his situation, he says he doesnâ€™t want to give someone a dreary outlook on life.
