Philadelphia police are investigating the discovery of a body of a women found inside a duffel bag early this morning in North Philadelphia. A man who was trash picking found the body on the 2200 block of N. 3rd Street between Susquehanna Avenue and Dauphin Street at around 5:30 a.m. in a lot next to an abandoned building. The identity of the woman is unknown, but she is believed to be a Hispanic female in her 20's. She was wrapped up in a plastic bag before being stuffed inside. Officials do not know how she died or how long she was outside in that bag. Detectives have been assigned to investigate this case.

UPDATE: The woman has been identified as 23-year-old Laura Araujo, a recent graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia. She had been beaten and strangled before being stuffed in the duffel bag. Her belonging were also discarded nearby. He car was found burning on the 1600 block of South Bambrey Street in South Philadelphia around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Officials in Skippack, Montgomery County, have determined the cause of the mysterious odor that compelled over 100 people to evacuate their homes Sunday night. Authorities say that it was gasoline that had seeped into the ground water and then made its way into the sump pumps of three of the homes in the Fairlawn Court development in Skippack Township. Those three homes tested positive for hydrocarbons as well as others in the development. The EPA determined that it was gasoline this afternoon. After residents have aired out their homes and flushed their pumps most of them were allowed to return home. Fire officials say they do not and may not know how gasoline entered the groundwater in the first place.

A Delaware couple is under arrest for having sex on the roof of a popular restaurant. It happened at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday night on top of the Chipotle restaurant on the 100 block of East Main Street in Newark, DE. Police were called to the scene after receiving multiple reports of a couple engaging in sexual intercourse on the roof. The restaurant was still open at the time. The officer noted that the couple was at the very front of the building and he could see them from the street. He told them to stop and that they were under arrest, however they fled to the male's apartment. Police arrested the couple there without incident. They have been identified as 39-year-old Michael Suh and 27-year-old Nicole Germack both of Newark. (see photo below) They are both charged with Resisting Arrest, Lewdness, Indecent Exposure, Loitering and Conspiracy and both were released after receiving $1,800 unsecured bond.
