Filming in Dilworth Park; Marijuana Decriminalized; Tom Wolf's Torture Porn Actor

The newly opened Dilworth Park outside City Hall is photogenic and worthy of a student film crew from Temple. Not so fast. Ten students from Temple showed up to shoot video when staff members from the Center City District, which manages the park, told the students who had set up a camera on a tripod to interview people, they had to shut down. The City later said there was a rule in place prohibiting professional film companies, and apologized to the students.

A deal has been reached to decriminalize marijuana in Philadelphia. Mayor Nutter and City Councilman James Kenney have reached a compromise on a bill reducing penalties for pot possession. Possessing or using less than 30 grams in public will get you fined but no criminal charges or an arrest.

The Pennsylvania Governor’s Association is criticizing challenger Tom Wolf for including a “torture porn” actor in one of Wolf’s TV campaign commercials. Alan Benyak is now being edited out of the Tom Wolf commercials after it was exposed Benyak starred as “Mr. Cannibal” in the porn film “Breeding Farm.” Wolf’s campaign says they were unaware of the actor’s involvement in the film.
