Crash Pilot Had Medical Issues; Triple Shooting Deaths; Lynne Abraham Tops Election Poll

The co-pilot of the Germanwings aircraft that crashed into the French Alps Tuesday may have hid an illness from the airline according to German prosecutors. A search of the the Duesseldorf home of Andreas Lubitz, yielded no suicide note, and there is no evidence that political or religious factors were involved in the crash. Officials say medical documents at Lubitz's home indicated "an existing illness and appropriate medical treatment."

Two people have died in a triple shooting during a robbery attempt in West Philadelphia. At about 10:30 last night two men with a gun announced a robbery of two men who had just stepped off a trolley. One of the robbery victims had license to carry and drew his gun. Shots were fired striking both robbery suspects and one of the intended victims. One of the would-be robbers is dead, the other is critical. One of the robbery victims is dead.

Lynne Abraham’s campaign released polling data yesterday that indicates the former DA leads her opponents by a large margin in the race for Philadelphia’s next mayor. According to the Mellman Group memo, Abraham is significantly better-liked than the other contenders. Thirty percent of the voters representing the likely electorate favor Lynne Abraham. Her opponents are all in the single digits and 29% are undecided.
