It's been two weeks since David Letterman took his final bow on CBS' Late Show. His successor, Stephen Colbert, has been hibernating since last December after closing down his own late night show The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. Well, it seems as Colbert has awoken from his sleep this week and is giving us signs of life through the web about what his show will be about. On Wednesday, they launched the official website, app, and social media sites. He even shaved the Colbeard.

On Thursday, we were introduced to Colbert's Late Show bandleader. New Orleans musician Jon Batiste and his band Stay Human were announced in a Youtube video. 28-year-old Batiste is a multi-instrumentalist who graduated from Julliard with undergraduate and graduate degrees. He has worked with artists such as Prince, Wynton Marsalis and Lenny Kravitz. Batiste has even appeared on Colbert's show before. Watch the videos below:

Singer Sam Smith is now allowed to speak again after undergoing surgery for a vocal chord hemorrhage suffered while on tour in Sydney in April. Smith announced dates for a handful of rescheduled Australian shows for the fall that were canceled following the injury. His first show back will be July 3rd followed by dates in Europe and North America. The “Stay With Me” singer will not be coming to Philadelphia this year, but he will be playing the Merriweather Post Pavilion outside Baltimore on July 24th.

I CAN SPEAK AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Tink released a video for her collaboration with Tazer “Wet Dollars.” The track is a hybrid rap/dance track and the video has plenty of dancing. Rooftops, stairwells, alleys, subways, etc. are ripe settings to break it out. Tink's debut album Think Tink produced by Timbaland is due out this summer.
