A federal judge has stopped the U.S. government from denying Philadelphia a major grant because of its sanctuary city status. U.S. District Judge Michael Baylson stated on Wednesday that withholding the grant could cause harm to the city and its residents. Philadelphia government officials filed a suit against Attorney General Jeff Sessions in August after he said that, cities that do not comply with immigration enforcement laws will be denied certain federal grants. Around $1.6 million was at stake for the City of Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Police and Temple University security officers are searching for a group teens who beat up a Temple student last week off campus. The victim, 20-year-old Eli Glovas-Kurtz, was attacked by the teens back on November 7th at 12th and Oxford, which is only a block away from Temple's campus. Glovas-Kurtz says that one of the teens came up and punched him in the back of the head. He ended up falling to the ground. This is when the other teens joined in, hitting him in the head with a pipe three times. Luckily he was able to get the attention of a Temple security guard who called an ambulance. Glovas-Kurtz says that the suspects did not take anything from him either, they just simply beat him up and then ran. Police say that a homeless man was also beat up by a group of teens nearby that same night. They are still not sure whether or not it is the same group involved near Temple. Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police (215-686-8477).

U.S. House Democrats introduced articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Wednesday. Democrat Representative Steve Cohen from Tennessee introduced 5 impeachment articles against Trump. The articles of impeachment include: the obstruction of justice for when Trump fired former FBI director James Comey, two emoluments clause violations, undermining the independence of the federal judiciary and undermining the freedom of the press. Cohen, who is a ranking member of the House judiciary committee stated that he and his party know the limitations of the impeachment proposal. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders stated that Democrats time "would be better spent focusing on tax relief for American families and businesses." Cohen told the press that he doesn't expect the committee to take up hearings rather he would facilitate briefings.
