Bucks County Manhunt Over; Delco Man Shoots Parents; Kavanaugh Vote Goes to Senate

The weeklong manhunt for a Bucks County child rape suspect is now over. The U.S. Marshals and Aston Police took 47-year old David Hamilton into custody on Friday morning, 9/28, in Delaware County. He was found hiding in a second floor closet of a relative's home. The U.S. Marshals' Fugitive Task Force and the Aston Police Department surrounded the house on Roberts Road around 10:15 a.m. He was alone in the house and was taken without incident. The home belongs to a female relative. No word on if charges would be brought against her. Sun Valley High School and Northley Middle School were placed on lockdown for a short time. Hamilton is wanted by Lower Southampton police for sexually assaulting two girls under the age of 13. He has led authorities on a manhunt from New Hope last weekend to Bear, DE, and now Aston. A woman, Meredith Custodio, was arrested earlier this week for harboring Hamilton in a Solebury home she worked as a caretaker.

A 31-year-old Delaware County have has been captured following a short manhunt after he shot both his parents on Thursday night. Matthew Hox was taken into custody around 3 a.m. by Tinicum Township police. He is charged with murder and attempted murder. It started around 8:45 p.m. Thursday, 9/27, in their home on the 400 block of Iroquois Street. Hox shot and killed his father 77-year-old Henry Hox and wounded his mother 62-year-old Donna Hox. Henry was pronounced dead at the scene and Donna is in stable condition at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Police say an argument may have triggered the shooting. Authorities spent the next few hours combing the neighborhood for Matthew. He was eventually found just a block away hiding in a wooded area.

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 11-10 on Friday morning to advance Judge Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination to the full Senate floor. The vote was split on party lines. This comes a day after the committee heard daylong testimony from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Kavanaugh. Ford is accusing Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were in high school. Kavanaugh denies the allegations. Republican Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona, who voted to advance, said that he couldn't promise to vote for confirmation on the Senate floor and that he would like to see more investigation. "I will only be comfortable moving it on the floor only after the FBI has done more investigation," said Flake.
