Philadelphia Police have a suspect in custody wanted for the rape of a woman in Love Park last month. It happened at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 25th. The 41-year-old female victim had just gotten off of the El at 15th Street in Center City and was walking through the park. She was approached from behind, punched several times, and knocked to the ground. The woman was then raped. Witnesses heard her screams and called 911. Police arrived and chased the suspect, but he jumped 25 feet down into the subway concourse and got away. Police released surveillance images of the man. The Fraternal Order of Police offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. At this time, charges are pending and his identification has not been released.

Four people, including two small children, were discovered dead in Salem County in two locations on Wednesday morning, 2/5, from an apparent murder-suicide. It started after a passerby spotted a dead body in the woods off of Sportsman Road in Carneys Point. Carneys Point police responded and discovered a man who appeared to have died by suicide. They contacted Penns Grove Police Department and requested a well-being check at the man's address on Helms Cove Lane in Penns Grove. Penns Grove police went to the apartment and found a woman and two small children also dead. They have been identified by family members as the man's wife, Ruth Reyes, their 5-year-old daughter Euriany and 2-year-old-son Eury. Apparently, Reyes had filed a restraining order against her husband. The Carneys Point Police Department, the Penns Grove Police Department, the Salem County Prosecutor's Office, and the New Jersey State Police are all investigating.

A Burlington County couple has been charged after their 2-year-old almost died after ingesting illegal narcotics in their Mount Holly home last month. 36-year-old Ray Drayton and his girlfriend 36-year-old Melissa R. Wilkerson are charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and cruelty and neglect of children. Authorities responded to the home on the first block of Madison Avenue on January 13th to the report of an unresponsive boy with shallow breathing. The child had apparently ingested fentanyl and methamphetamine. He was rushed to Virtua Memorial Hospital. After administering Narcan, the boy's breathing improved but doctors found his brain had begun to swell. The boy was transferred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he underwent surgery. "It is believed the boy came into contact with the drugs from a cotton ball that was contaminated during intravenous drug use at the residence," the Burlington County Prosecutor's office said in a statement. "He remains at CHOP in critical condition." At a detention hearing on Wednesday, 2/5, a judge ordered Drayton to be held while Wilkerson was freed.

Sports
The Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly acquired G Alec Burks and F Glenn Robinson III from the Golden State Warriors for three second-round draft picks owned by Dallas 2020, Denver 2021, and Toronto 2022. The NBA trade deadline is Thursday, 2/6, at 3 pm.
