NJ Nursing Home Found w/ 17 Bodies in Morgue; Bucks Co Parks to Reopen; NJ Schools Closed to May 15

A nursing home in New Jersey is under investigation after 17 bodies were found inside the facility's small morgue. An anonymous tip and a separate request for a large number of new body bags led authorities to check out the Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center II in Sussex County. Officials found the bodies in bags and tagged with identification inside the morgue which was built to hold only four. Temple University announced that it is instituting pay cuts as the coronavirus has caused significant loss in revenue. The school says that it is missing out on money from canceled conferences and events as well as refunds to students for unused housing, meal plans and parking charges. The National Transportation Safety Bureau (NTSB) has issued an Aviation Accident Factual Report for the airplane crash that killed Hall of Fame Philadelphia Phillies P Roy Halladay. The crash happened around noon on November 7, 2017, in the waters off of Clearwater, FL. Halladay was flying an Icon Aircraft A5 special light sport amphibious airplane, which he had purchased a month earlier. SEPTA is now offering free surgical face masks to riders aboard some vehicles. The masks will be provided on buses, the Market-Frankford Line, the Broad Street Line, and at 69th Street, 15th Street, Suburban, and Jefferson stations. The masks will be in plastic bags and there will be signs directing you to them so you can grab your own. Please take one if you need one. Wear your own mask if you have one. The Pennsylvania House of Representatives voted on a bill (SB 613) on Tuesday, 4/14, to allow some businesses in the commonwealth to reopen if they follow guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The bill passed 107-95 with all Democrats voting against the bill. It will go to the Senate next. It will still need the signature of Gov. Wolf after that, which is unlikely. A first responder from Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Lansdowne, Delaware County, has died from coronavirus COVID-19. 33-year-old Kevin Bundy passed away on Sunday night, 4/12, after several days in the hospital. Bundy had worked as a paramedic at Mercy Fitzgerald since 2016.

The entire area can expect significant stormy weather on Monday, 4/13. There is a High Wind Warning that will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts 55 to 60 mph. Down the shore those wind gusts could be 60 to 70 mph. According to the NWS warning, "Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected."
