Megabus Stops New York City Service; NJ Req. PPE Inventory Reports; 9 More PA Counties Stay-At-Home

Megabus has suspended all service in and out of New York City through Thursday, April 9th. This is due to federal recommendations that anyone traveling from NYC should self-quarantine for 14-days. If you have booked travel on Megabus during this time, you will get a message about rescheduling. They have also updating their rescheduling policy to allow for rebooking at no cost. Glen Mills Turned into FEMA Site; Temple Lends Liacouras to City; Sea Isle Closes Beach/Promenade

The closed Glen Mills School in Delaware County will be turned into a FEMA medical center to treat coronavirus COVID-19 patients. A Federal Medical Station will be set up in the school's recreation center which is around 86,000 square feet. It will be used for surge capacity. The school also has medical and dental facilities, a generator, and even an airfield on its 800-acre campus. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Thursday, 3/26, that the deadline for obtaining a REAL ID has been postponed by 1-year. The deadline was set for this October. It is now October 1, 2021. You do not have to have a REAL ID compliant identification, but it is required for many things including boarding a commercial flight and entering a federal building. Philadelphia YMCA Lays Off 3,400; Philadelphia Stops Pursuing Hahnemann; Philabundance Temp. Closes

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA has laid off 3,400 workers due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. 700 of those employee were full-time. There are now just 61 employees left working across the organization's 16 branches and 12 early learning centers. They have all taken pay cuts. President and CEO Shaun Elliott has completely cut his pay and his top staff have cut their pay in half. Elliott said that 90% of the YMCA's revenue comes from the gym and child care. The mayor of Ocean City, New Jersey, has closed the boardwalk and the beaches until further notice due to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. The order is meant to further emphasize social distancing and the Governor's 'stay-at-home' order.

Archdiocese of Philadelphia Cancels Mass Through Easter; DRPA Bridges Go Cashless; PA School Bill

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced on Wednesday, 3/25, that the suspension of the celebration of all public Masses in the Archdiocese will continue until further notice and at least through Easter Sunday, 4/12. Philadelphia city officials are in negotiations with the owner of the shuttered Hahnemann Hospital to possibly reopen the building. The Center City hospital slowly closed last summer after declaring bankruptcy.
