Drive Through Testing Open in South Philly; Mexico Border Closed, Tax Day Moved; Procession for Sgt.

A drive-through coronavirus COVID-19 testing site opened on Friday afternoon, 3/20, outside Citizen's Bank Park in South Philadelphia. The Community Based Testing Site will be open from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. each day as long as supplies last. The testing site is open to the public and a doctor's note or prescription is not necessary, however, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health is restricting eligibility to testing at this time to certain groups of people:

Changes to List and Times of Philadelphia Schools Distributing Free Student Meals Starting Mon. 3/23

The Philadelphia School District and City officials have come up with a new policy surrounding the distribution of free student meals during the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. Parks and Recreation Centers will no longer be distributing a meal at 3 p.m. daily. School sites will now only be handing out meals on Monday and Thursday. However, they will be giving out 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches per student each time. See the new guidelines and list of distribution sites below.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has ordered all 'non life-sustaining' businesses in the state to close their physical locations tonight Thursday, 3/19, at 8 p.m. If businesses do not comply with the order, enforcement actions will start at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, 3/21, including citations, fines, or license suspensions. Around 1,000 contract workers at Philadelphia International Airport are expected to be laid off in the coming days due to coronavirus COVID-19. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) says workers will get notices between Thursday and Monday as part of a 'massive layoff.' The workers are contracted by companies and perform jobs such as cabin cleaners, wheelchair aides, line queuers, and curbside skycaps.

Penn Medicine has confirmed that several employees within their health system across the region have tested positive for coronavirus COVID-19. They did not state an exact number nor say where and what these employees' jobs entail. They say that they identified and contacted any patients and staff that these employees came in contact with.

President Trump announced that the Department of Housing and Urban Development will suspend foreclosures and evictions through April. Penn Cancels On-Campus Commencement; MLB Opening Day Pushed Back; NFL Tampering Period Starts
