A Chester County woman has been arrested after faking a cancer diagnosis and then fraudulently collecting online donations. 31-year-old Jessica Ann Smith of Chester Springs claimed that she had colon cancer and was getting treatment at Penn Medicine. She set up a GoFundMe and Facebook Donation under her maiden name. Generous people donated $10,000. "She made people believe that she had a very serious cancer diagnosis. An armed robber was shot dead by the intended victim during an attempted robbery on Sunday night, 11/3. It happened around 8:30 p.m. near 60th and Girard Avenue in West Philadelphia. The suspect attempted to rob a man at gunpoint. The victim, who has a license to carry, shot the suspect. He was rushed to the hospital where he died.

Philadelphia Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck who attempted to lure a young girl in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday, 11/1. It happened around 6 p.m. on the 3500 block of Teton Road. Police say the man approached the girl saying, 'Give me a kiss', 'where is your mother?' and 'Let's Go.' He is described as a white male in his 50s, 6', last seen wearing a black shirt and jeans. He was driving a silver Ford 150 with a black truck bed cover.

A Maryland man who killed five members of a New Jersey family when his truck crossed the median of a Delaware highway and slammed head on with their mini van has been sentenced to one year of probation. 46-year-old Alvin Hubbard III of Cambridge pled guilty to five misdemeanor counts of operating a motor vehicle causing death and two misdemeanor counts of vehicular assault in June. The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-2 tornado struck Delaware County on Thursday evening, 10/31. The tornado damaged dozens of homes, around 8 severely, along Chelsea Court in Thornbury Township near Glen Mills. Trees were toppled, roofs torn off, and windows were shattered by the intense winds along a 3/4 mile path. An EF-2 tornado can have wind speeds of 111 to 135 mph. Family has identified the victim as 26-year-old Michael Canals.
