Two teenagers were killed after being thrown from their vehicle in a crash along Roosevelt Boulevard on Saturday night, 6/1. It happened just before 11 p.m. in the southbound outer lanes. 19-year-old Bao Tran was driving and 17-year-old Nick Sy was a passenger in a white Nissan when they lost control around near Devereaux Street. A small single engine private plane made an emergency landing on the beach in Ocean City, NJ, on Saturday morning, 6/1. It happened around 8:30 a.m. on the 49th Street beach. Surprised beachgoers caught the landing on video (see below). The Cessna 182 landed on the sand and rolled along the beach before coming to a stop and lurching up on its nose and wing. The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down on Wednesday afternoon, 5/29, around 3:15 p.m. near the border of Bucks and Lehigh Counties. EF-0 tornados have winds that top out at 85 mph. The NWS will continue to survey damage throughout the area on Thursday. It happened around 11:30 a.m. near South Cape May Meadows Path between Cape May and Cape May Point. Smoking Ban on NJ Beaches/Parks; RiverRink Summerfest Open; St. Charles Seminary Sold

A smoking and vaping ban is in effect on all New Jersey beaches this summer. The law was passed and signed by Governor Phil Murphy last year. It is $250 for a first violation, $500 for a second violation, and $1,000 for each subsequent violation.
