The Cumberland County Prosecutor's office has released police body cam footage from last weekend's fatal encounter between Vineland police and a suspect outside a home (see video below). It happened on Saturday, July 14th on Wood Street near Northwest Boulevard. Police responded to reports of a suspicious man and found 37-year-old Rashaun Washington pacing back and forth and holding something in his hands. Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video of a road rage shooting in Northeast Philadelphia earlier this month. It happened around 8:30 p.m. on July 3rd on the 2600 block of Cottman Ave. near the Roosevelt Mall. The victim is a 22-year-old male. It started when he was getting ready to turn on to Cottman Ave. The suspect, driving a dark-colored sedan, asked to get in front. The victim said there wasn't enough room and then the light changed. PA Supreme Court Uphold Soda Tax; Body Found in Plastic in Fairmount; Couple Charged in Baby's Death

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled in favor of the City of Philadelphia and upheld the city's tax on sweetened beverages. The so called 'Soda Tax' is 1.5 cents/ounce. The beverage industry argued that the tax is in violation of the 1932 Sterling Act that gave Philadelphia its own tax authority, but also prohibits it from taxing anything already taxed by the state. Nine of Pennsylvania's 13 casinos have applied for licenses to operate online casinos and internet gambling. All four Philadelphia-area casinos have applied. The deadline was on Monday, 7/16. It will cost them each $10 million. The other four still have 30-days to decide, but it was cost $12 million. Police are investigating after a 9-year-old girl was killed by a stray bullet while inside her home in Cumberland County early Tuesday morning, 7/17. Gunfire broke out around 12:30 a.m. at Elmer and Walnut Streets in Brigeton, NJ. Several parked vehicles were hit by the gunfire. 9-year-old Jennifer Trejo was inside her home about a block away and was struck by a bullet that came through the rear wall. A couple was caught on video this past Tuesday afternoon, 7/10, catching small birds while sitting on a bench in Washington Square park. The man was throwing food to attract a group of sparrows. The woman leans over and extends her arm slowly before quickly snatching one the birds. She then unties a plastic bag, put the bird inside, and reties the bag.
