The man who ambushed a Philadelphia Police officer 'in the name of ISIS' two years ago, shooting him as he sit in his patrol car in West Philadelphia, has been found guilty. Edward Archer was found guilty of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and other charges. The jury deliberated for less than three hours. The attack happened on January 7th, 2016. Police in Radnor Township are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after two people were found dead in a home last night. Police responded to the house on the 200 block of Highland Avenue in Wayne after a concerned neighbor called. Mail had been piling up and the residents' cars were parked outside. A chartered Amtrak train carrying Republican members of Congress, family members, and staff to the annual GOP retreat struck a tractor trailer carrying garbage that was on the tracks. Pennsylvania's highest court will now hear an appeal in a lawsuit challenging Philadelphia's year-old tax on soda and other sweetened drinks. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court stated that it will hear the appeal on whether or not the tax violates a 1932 law prohibiting Philadelphia from taxing a transaction or subject that is already taxed in the state. The incident took place at a parking lot located on the 4600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard at around 7:45 pm. An off-duty Philadelphia Police detective shot a driver this morning in South Philly who was driving erratically and appeared to be trying to run over pedestrians along Broad Street. It happened at 7:30 a.m. Monday morning. A bicycle officer reported that a black Honda was driving irregularly on Broad Street near Bigler Street and was apparently trying to hit people. Officials say that a man jumped out of a burning building to safety on Sunday in North Philadelphia. The incident happened on the 3300 block of North 15th Street at around 6:30 pm. Firefighters say that they arrived at the home to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. Officials say that the 33-year-old man who jumped from the home was taken to Temple University Hospital, so far there is no word on his condition.
