The husband of murdered New Jersey radio host April Kauffman was arrested Tuesday morning as authorities attempted to execute search warrants on his Egg Harbor Township business and home. FBI agents and local police arrived on the 4000 block of Ocean Heights Avenue to serve a warrant at Dr. James Kauffman's office. They were met by Kauffman brandishing a 9mm Ruger handgun. Philadelphia officials are now trying to offer an alternative method to giving panhandlers money, in an effort to try and stop the practice in the city. The new project would allow pedestrians to text in donations to homeless services in Philadelphia. Pedestrians will be able to text the word "Share" to 80077 and donate $5 automatically. Two New Jersey State Troopers rescued a young boy and a puppy after they were accidentally locked in a hot car in Hammonton Township. It happened on Friday in the Batsto Village. The woman placed her 2-year-old grandson and dog in the backseat of her car and shut the door. Philadelphia Police have charged the SUV driver that struck and killed a mother standing on the sidewalk with her two children in Port Richmond on Saturday night. 39-year-old Ryan McHugh of Philadelphia is charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault while driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter and causing an accident involving death. A mother is dead and her son is injured after being hit by a car on Saturday evening in Port Richmond. It happened along Aramingo Ave. near Tioga before 9 p.m. The 28-year-old Hispanic woman was standing on the corner with her 9-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter. A car repossession turned fatal as a confrontation between car owner and repo man escalated to gun shots this morning in Point Breeze. It happened at 18th and Dickinson Streets around 10:30 a.m. when a tow truck driver was attempting to repossess a Toyota minivan. The female owner of the vehicle called her male friend to the scene. The shooting took place on the 1400 block of Whitaker Avenue at around 6:45 pm on Thursday evening. Officials have stated that a police officer opened fire on the suspect. An employee at a supermarket in Northeast Pennsylvania killed three co-workers before turning a gun on himself early Thursday morning in a workplace murder-suicide in Wyoming County.
