Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a grenade was found in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia on Tuesday. The grenade was found on a walkway on the 3100 block of Tilton Street at around 2:30 pm. Residents who found the grenade immediately contacted 911 to come help dispose of the explosive. The Philadelphia Parking Authority is suspending parking meter payments through the mobile payment app, meterUp powered by Pango, tonight at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, April 12. Parking Authority Deputy director Corrinne O'Connor blames the suspension on the financial problems of the service provider Pango USA. A Montgomery County man is facing numerous charges for allegedly beating and torturing his two children for years. 44-year-old Joseph Myhre of Greensway Circle in Lower Providence Township is charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, strangulation, conspiracy, unlawful restraint and reckless endangering his two children. Schuylkill Police say that a toddler has been hospitalized after she consumed methamphetamine at her parent's home in Wayne Township. Police say that the girl found the bag of drugs and consumed it on Sunday morning. After being found, she was transported by helicopter to the hospital. Her 26-year-old father and his 24-year-old girlfriend are being charged with child endangerment. There is still no word on the child's condition.

The Philadelphia Phillies announced on Monday afternoon that Pete Rose will be the 2017 inductee into the Phillies Wall of Fame. Rose was selected by fan voting on the Phillies website this past winter. He will join 38 other inductees with his own bronze plaque out in Ashburn Alley. Rose played for the Phillies from 1979-83, helping the team to two National League pennants and the World Series Championship on 1980. Two ceremonies were held today to swear-in new Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. The first private ceremony was conducted in the Justices' Conference Room by Chief Justice John Roberts. Gorsuch was sworn in again in a public ceremony at the White House Rose Garden by Justice Anthony Kennedy for whom he once served as a law clerk. Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a shooting occurred in the Strawberry Mansion Section of Philadelphia that left one victim dead and another injured. The shooting took place at around 9:40 pm on Sunday on the 2500 block of North Martson Street. Police say that multiple shots were fired in the area, and two people were struck. Philadelphia firefighters battled a fire at a vacant building in Manayunk on Sunday afternoon. It started around 3:30 p.m. near Main Street and Leverington Avenue. The building used to house the former Carmella's Restaurant which closed in 2004. The vacant building is located on Venice Island between the Manayunk Canal and the Schuylkill River. Philadelphia Police have arrested and charged a man who they say started a number of fires, including one at the Famous 4th Street Deli in South Philadelphia. 59-year-old Juan Barkley has been charged with arson, risking catastrophe, criminal mischief and other offenses.
