An arrest was made in some of the recent threats to Jewish centers nationwide. 31-year-old Juan Thompson was arrested in St. Louis and will appear in federal court on Friday afternoon. He is charged with cyberstalking. He is behind at least 8 of the threats to Jewish Community Centers, plus a bomb threat to the New York Anti-Defamation League. Philadelphia Police are now searching for three suspects that are wanted in connection to a home invasion that took place in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. The invasion took place on the 6500 block of Lebanon Avenue at around 3:19 pm on Thursday. Police say that the 32-year-old victim opened her front door after hearing a knock, at this time the three suspects forced their way into the victim's house. Mayor Jim Kenney presented his second budget to Philadelphia City Council on Thursday. The $4.4 billion budget for the fiscal year starting July 1st contains some new spending but no new taxes. Some items included in the budget are new hires and equipment in the fire department, substance abuse support and treatment, a park built over I-95 and Delaware Ave. in Old City, additional lawyers for child welfare system, and additional health inspectors for restaurants. Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced the arrest of a 17-year-old boy who attacked and robbed a 72-year-old woman in her home, leaving her bound in a closet for four days. It started on Wednesday February 22nd, when the victim returned from running errands in the morning to find her house had been burglarized. She left again for work. Police are now investigating a stabbing that took place in the Logan section of Philadelphia on Wednesday night. The stabbing took place on 4800 block of North 10th Street at around 6:16 pm. The victim was stabbed twice on the left side of his back as well as once on his right side. Police then rushed him to Einstein Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. So far no arrests have been made, and police are still searching for the suspect.

Pepsi is cutting 80-100 Philadelphia area jobs in response to the city's recent beverage tax over the next few months beginning today. Employees from the frontline to supervisory positions will be affected. The company said that beverage sales are down 40% in the city and up only 10-15% outside the city since the tax went into effect in January. 11 people were taken into custody and cited for disorderly conduct this afternoon for staging a sit-in and refusing to leave the lobby of Republican Senator Pat Toomey's Center City offices.
