A suspect was killed during a confrontation with a U.S. Marshal in Northeast Philadelphia Monday. The shooting happened on the 1300 block of Hellerman Street at around 10:20 am. The U.S. Marshal was serving a warrant to a suspect for a shooting that took place in July in Philadelphia. Officials say that the suspect drew a weapon out on the marshal, and the marshal pulled out his gun and shot him, killing the suspect. The suspect's weapon was recovered at the scene. Former U.S. Congressman Chaka Fattah was sentenced Monday to 10 years in federal prison for fraud and racketeering. Fattah was found guilty in the corruption and money laundering case this past summer. He was accused of taking an illegal $1 million loan to finance his campaign and then using a federal grant to pay it back. Police are now investigating a home invasion that took place in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia on Sunday night. The incident happened on the 6700 block of Ruthland Street at around 8 pm. Police say that three men masked men who were armed with ice picks broke into the home and started to ransack the first and second floors of the house. Ronald Galati Sr. and his son Ronald Galti Jr. own and operate American Collision Auto Body in Philadelphia. Police are now investigating after a woman was found dead in a home in Bucks County Thursday night. The woman has been identified as Rebecca Cope. Police have also identified Cope's 30-year-old son Zachary Cope, as the suspect in her death. Authorities say that Zachary Cope was spotted walking on the 200 block of Taylorsville Road, when he stopped a car and reportedly told the driver he had killed his mother. Officials have now indicted a South Jersey man on charges that he stole thousands of dollars from a youth football league. 49-year-old Michael DiFlorio of Williamstown, New Jersey, has been accused with embezzling more than $56,000. New Castle County Police have released surveillance video of a vehicle wanted in a hit-and-run accident that severely injured a 12-year-old boy from the Overview Gardens community.
