A missing Penn State professor has been found dead. His body was discovered at the bottom of a quarry and he had apparently been pushed. 56-year-old Ronald Bettig, an associate professor of media studies, had not been seen since August 12th. Penn State police launched an investigation and transferred it to State Police this week. Firefighters had to rescue passengers aboard two NJ Transit buses that collided in Newark, New Jersey this morning. One person has died, seven others have been injured. One of the busses t-boned the other, killing one of the bus drivers as one bus ended up on its side.

A mass of consecration for Philadelphia's newest auxiliary bishop was held in the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on the Parkway Thursday afternoon. Retired Cardinal Justin Rigali joined his successor, Archbishop Charles Chaput, along with bishops from Harrisburg and New York, to ordain Bishop Edward Deliman as the 27th auxiliary in the history of the archdiocese. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has nominated former First Deputy Attorney General Bruce Beemer for temporary Attorney General. He would replace former Solicitor General Bruce Castor who was sworn into office as acting Attorney General. Beemer testified against the convicted Kathleen Kane who resigned yesterday. The body of a New Jersey mother who has been missing for months has been found and two people are under arrest. 41-year-old Tyrita Julius of Linden had been missing since March 8th when her friend, 33-year-old Jennifer Sweeney, supposedly dropped her off at the Long Branch train station. Former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter is currently defending his administration against claims of his misuse of finances. City Controller Alan Butkovitz accused Nutter of financial mismanagement. The spending in question was in regards to both trips and special projects from a special fund which drew in money from the Philadelphia Marathon.
