The Superintendent of Schools in Robbinsville, Mercer County, NJ, was struck and killed this morning by a 17-year-old high school student on her way to school. Dr. Steven J. Mayer was out jogging with his dog at 6:15 a.m. on Robbinsville Edinburg Road when he was hit. The female is a student at Robbinsville High School and was going to school early for a field trip. The Flyers lost to the Capitals last night to fall behind 3-0 in the series. Flyers fans took Philadelphia's reputation down a couple notches when they threw wristbands onto the ice in frustration. The behavior drew a delay of game penalty. All fans were given the wristbands for a ceremony honoring former Flyers owner, Ed Snider who passed away last week.

Fire fighters had to battle a restaurant fire last night in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. The Fire broke out at around 6 p.m. at Owens Cafe on the 2800 block of Cottman Avenue. Crews who arrived on the scene noticed the fire stretching from the cafe to other businesses on the block. As of now, no injuries have been reported.

Philadelphia Police have identified and apprehended the suspect wanted for shooting a police officer on Sunday night in West Philadelphia. Narcotics officers observed 23-year-old Scott Griffin on the 1200 block of Alden Street and arrested him around 1 p.m. this afternoon. After a Philadelphia Police officer was shot in West Philadelphia one suspect is in custody, while the gunman is still on the loose. On the 5900 block of Market St. Officer James McCullough was shot while trying to stop a robbery. McCullough was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Gov. Tom Wolf has officially signed the bill to legalize Marijuana in Pennsylvania. The bill was approved last week by the house, and Gov. Wolf was more than eager to sign the bill saying, "This is a great day for Pennsylvania and a great day for Pennsylvanians." Today marks 100 days until the Democratic National Convention comes to Philadelphia on July 25th-28th. The occasion was marked by a block party outside of the National Constitution Center and updates on the progress by DNC officials. Philadelphia Police have identified and arrested the driver in a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday night in Port Richmond that left one person dead. 62-year-old Ramon Morales of the 4200 block of Cedar Street was taken into custody on Thursday. Man In Critical Condition, Protest On Broad Street, 15 Gang Members Arrested

A 28-year-old man was stabbed yesterday in the Hunting section of Philadelphia. The stabbing happened around 3:30 pm on the 3800 block of Park Avenue. The victim was stabbed in the chest, and was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was in critical condition. Police now say they have recovered the weapon and have arrested a suspect.
