Philadelphia police are investigating the death of psychiatrist, Dr. Howard Baker at the Rodeway Hotel on Walnut Street in Center City this week. The 75 year old Lower Merion doctor was found dead on the floor of one of the guest rooms. He was found naked with a leather belt wrapped around his neck. A person of interest is being questioned in the case.

Police are looking for two men they say took a bag filled with diamonds from a man walking in Center City. It happened at 6:00 in the evening on the 1100 block of Sansom Street. Authorities say the 44-year-old victim was carrying a shoulder bag containing nearly $350,000 worth of loose diamonds. 29-year-old Kyle Crosby of Mount Laurel, NJ, pled guilty Tuesday to murdering his wife last New Year's Eve and dumping the body in a wooded area in rural Maryland. Crosby entered a guilty plea to Aggravated Manslaughter and Hindering Apprehension and will serve 31 years in state prison. As part of the plea bargain, charges for helping conceal the crime against his 68-year-old mother Jo of Sicklerville will be dropped. Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice J. Michael Eakin was suspended today with pay by the state's Court of Judicial Discipline for his involvement in the "Porngate" scandal. The 3-person panel said that Eakin's e-mails contained insensitive and inappropriate messages with regards to gender, race, sexual orientation and ethnicity and have "tainted the Pennsylvania judiciary in the eyes of the public." A SEPTA bus driver under investigation for allegedly striking a passenger last week was suspended Monday without pay. The action comes days after a video surfaced showing the driver allegedly dousing a young female passenger with water and hitting her twice in the face. The incident happened aboard a Route 57 bus about 8 a.m. Friday on Rising Sun Avenue near Duncannon Street in Olney. The incident was related to a dispute over bus fare. Detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified man who was shot while he walked his puppy on the 300 block of Horton Street in the Carroll Park section of West Philadelphia. Police responded to a call about gunshots just before 7:00 Monday. When they arrived, they found the man, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, shot in the head and bleeding heavily. A 24-year-old woman from Oregon has been arrested and charged with murder after driving her car onto a crowded Las Vegas sidewalk, killing one person and injuring more than 30 others. Lakeisha Holloway could not tell police why she drove off the road, but authorities believe it was an intentional act having hopped the curb two or three times and then driving off. At least one person was killed and 7 others critically injured as a total of 37 were injured when a suspected drunk driver jumped a curb on Las Vegas Blvd near the Planet Hollywood Resort around the time the Miss Universe Pageant was wrapping up a live broadcast inside. Police say female driver went up onto the sidewalk then back onto the road twice as she hit several people. Officers also confirm a three year old toddler was in the back seat of the car.

Three women are dead after a fiery crash in Northeast Philadelphia early Sunday morning. The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. on the 8100 block of Torresdale Avenue near Rhawn Street in the city's Holmesburg section. The women were traveling northbound in a black Chevrolet Camaro at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, crossed into oncoming travel, and slammed into a parked, unoccupied tractor-trailer.
