At 11:00 am local time, authorities responded to the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, CA for the reports of a shooting. Witnesses say that three heavily armed and vested shooters entered the building and opened fire. 14 people are dead and 17 injured were taken to area hospitals. Lawyers for the Amtrak train derailment victims are holding a news conference today to talk about the impact of a decision by Congress to raise the liability cap from $200 million to $295 million. A Philadelphia Police officer has been arrested and charged with assault after a domestic incident on Thanksgiving in Bensalem, Bucks County. 48-year-old Officer Joseph Sees was taken into custody last Thursday by Bensalem Police. Sees was off-duty at the time and got into an altercation with a female. She suffered facial injuries including a broken nose. A neighbor called police after hearing the fight. The website reported the meeting took place in Philly on Friday. Chip Kelly says he was not in Philadelphia on Friday and says he has not met with or talked to anyone from USC. A mural was dedicated today that commemorates Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families back in September. The work is titled The Sacred Now: Faith and Family in the 21st Century and was designed by City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program muralist Cesar Viveros. The mural was painted by more than 2,700 individuals from 100 different countries working on 153 different panels. Pope Francis himself contributed to the work and signed his name to one panel.... Officials are investigating a shooting involving multiple people in Montgomery County that occurred overnight Monday. The incident occurred on the 100 block of Diamond Street in Hatfield around midnight. According to police, multiple bodies were found inside a home in the block. Those bodies had gunshot wounds. The bodies were taken to the medical examiner’s office pending identification and the circumstances that transpired before the shooting.

Five firefighters were injured Sunday morning when their ladder truck crashed while responding to a call in West Philadelphia. It happened around 10 a.m. in the 5400 hundred block of Baltimore Avenue when the truck careened off the street. The ladder also slammed into another parked car and a light pole. All five firefighters were taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with what officials described as minor injuries.

The Philadelphia Zoo has announced the names of its two new red panda cubs today. The cubs were born at the zoo on June 26th and debuted to the public in November. They asked the public's help in naming the cubs. The zoo received thousands of suggestions and then compiled a list open to a vote.
