A Pennsylvania beauty queen is facing charges she faked having leukemia to benefit from fundraisers, and has been jailed. Brandi Lee Weaver-Gates, of State College will be stripped of her title as Miss Pennsylvania U.S. International. The 23-year-old, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of theft by deception. A benefit raised $14,000 for the pageant winner and the state is asking the public to come forward if they have donated money to Weaver-Gates. The company that sponsors the pageant, says... Police are investigating a shooting in Point Breeze, when two dozen shots fired overnight in the 1800 block of South 30th Street sent residents running for cover. Several 911 calls led police to a home on South 30th Street where they found two men struck with bullets. A 20-year-old was struck in his foot and lower back, and the second victim, 22, had gunshot wounds in both of his legs. A third man was shot in the hip around 19th and Tasker Streets. A man was struck and killed by a tour bus this morning in Center City right in front of police headquarters. It happened at 9:47 a.m. at the intersection of North Franklin and Race streets. The 46-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street when the white tour bus turned the corner and hit the man. The bus dragged him for 50 feet and did not stop. A woman is dead and a child and another woman are injured after a shooting in Wilmington, DE on Monday afternoon. It happened just before 2 p.m. on the 400 block of W. 7th Street. A 25-year-old woman was found with gunshot wounds to her upper torso. She died at the scene. A 4-year-old child was taken to the hospital by officers with a gunshot to the legs. SEPTA has extended the deadline for people who were awarded regional rail tickets in the lottery but have not paid for them yet. If you were notified, you must purchase your tickets by 3 pm today. Tickets not purchased will be awarded to other lottery applicants who were passed over in the first round. So check your spam folder for the SEPTA invite and buy the passes by 3 pm today.

A car crashed into a house in Northeast Philadelphia. It happened shortly before midnight Sunday in the 8600 block of Bustleton Avenue in the city's Rhawnhurst neighborhood. Police say a man in his 80's was watching television when a car plowed into the home. He was treated for more minor cuts but is expected to be okay. The woman who was driving the car was tested for DUI and taken to a local hospital.

SEPTA has announced another lottery for transit passes for the weekend of the Papal Visit in September. This lottery will be for Special 3 Day passes on the Norristown High Speed Line and Routes 101 and 102 trolley lines. The $10 pass will be good for Saturday – Monday September 26-28th. You will choose one of 6 outlying stations. For the 101 trolley you would either pick Springfield Mall or Leamy avenue, for the 102 trolley, North Street or Clinfton-Aldan and for the Norristown... The body of the 11 year old Folcroft boy who went missing Monday was recovered in Darby Creek. Laquan Lattimore's death was determined to be an accidental drowning by the Medical Examiner. Foul play is not suspected, although his bicycle and backpack he was wearing were not recovered.
