A committee of the Philadelphia Historical Commission today will weigh in on a developer's plans for a ten-story apartment building in Old City — on the same block as the Betsy Ross House. PMC Property Group wants to turn a parking lot at 218 Arch Street in Old City into a ten-story apartment building with some first-floor retail and two levels of parking underground. Two people were injured after a SUV slammed through the front door of a brick home in Philadelphia's Rhawnhurt section. It happened around 5:35 p.m. this afternoon at the intersection of Castor Avenue and Loney Street. When police arrived they found a Jeep Cherokee crashed into the front of the building. Escapee DNA Found; Philadelphia Contingent in Rome; Wolf Forms PAC to Push Agenda

Investigators in New York have shifted the search for the two prison escapees, Richard Matt and David Sweat to an area just west of the Clinton Correctional Facility where they escaped from on June 6th. They apparently found some DNA evidence in a Franklin County hunting cabin that was broken into over the weekend.

Philadelphia and the four suburban counties are phasing out their current emergency notification system for residents and they're inviting you to sign up for the new system. The City of Philadelphia, along with Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester counties, are in the process of dropping 'ReadyNotifyPA' and switching to a new system for emergency notification to residents. Dylann Storm Roof, the alleged gunman who killed nine people during a shooting spree at Charleston church could get the death penalty. 21 year old Dylann Roof will face a judge today at 2 p.m. for a bond hearing in South Carolina. According to a friend, Roof had told him several weeks ago that black people were taking over the world and that Roof said he had a plan.

Some 1,000 substitute teachers in Philadelphia just lost their jobs with the school district. The School Reform Commission voted unanimously to outsource the jobs to a New Jersey company. A $34 million contract was awarded to Source4Teachers of Cherry Hill. The District's chief talent officer Naomi Wyatt says it’s needed because budget cuts and hiring rules have made managing subs so difficult that some 400 classrooms a day don't have teachers. The man wanted for killing nine people inside a Charleston, South Carolina church Wednesday night was captured without incident on Thursday morning. 21-year-old Dylann Storm Roof was seen in his car in Shelby, North Carolina almost 250 miles away. Roof is accused of killing six women and three men, including the pastor, at the The Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
