On Thursday, concerns began to swirl over the choice to feature Philadelphia Eagles' Wide Receiver Riley Cooper for the month of February on the official team calendar for 2015. February is widely publicized as Black History Month. Cooper, who is white, also had a widely publicized off-the-field incident during the off season in the summer of 2013. The Democratic National Convention is coming to Philadelphia. This is the first time in 70 years that the City of Brotherly Love has been selected to host the gathering. The Democratic National Committee announced the convention will be held the week of July 25th, 2016, the week after the Republicans will meet in Cleveland, Ohio.

For months police have wondered whether Andrew Biddle, the missing boater from this past summer in Longport was dead or alive. He's alive, and turned himself into police yesterday. The Egg Harbor Township man was wanted for allegedly staging a boating accident and disappearing in order to escape criminal charges. Biddle and his business partner were being investigated for fraudulent boat sales.

A man missing since a boating crash last summer in Longport, NJ has turned himself in to authorities at Atlantic County Superior Court on Thursday afternoon. 45-year-old Andrew Biddle, a professional boater, went missing on July 20th, 2014 when a boat he was said to be on hit a buoy and ran into a jetty. Philadelphia beat out Brooklyn, NY and Columbus, OH to be the Democrats' choice of host city for their convention. The bright new billboards on the historic Lit Brothers building in Center City Philadelphia are drawing some criticism from neighbors who don’t care for the new view of continuous blazing LED lights. Philadelphia Police have arrested and charged a man in the assault of a women in a Center City SEPTA station on Monday afternoon. 26-year-old Reginald Green is charged with Attempted Rape, Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Restraint, False Imprisonment, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Simple Assault, and Indecent Assault. Nearly half a billion dollars is up for grabs tonight in the Powerball drawing. It's the fifth largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. The Powerball jackpot stands at $485 million dollars. Lottery officials say booming sales meant raising the big prize from $450 million dollars yesterday. Pennsylvania lottery officials say tickets were selling at a rate of about 2,300 tickets per minute yesterday. 9:59 tonight is the deadline for the 11pm drawing.
