| A female firefighter was killed while battling a fire in the basement of a home in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane Section. She was the first female firefighter to die in the line of duty in Philadelphia history. She was an 11-year veteran of the Fire Department. She had been battling a fire on the 1600 block of Middleton Street around 3:00 this morning with Engine 64. | A Good Samaritan was seriously injured early Sunday morning after being hit by a car on I-95 while helping another driver. It happened around 5:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Rt 430 in near Route 420 in Tinicum Township, PA. 31-year-old Daniel Callaway, a volunteer fireman, stopped to help a driver who had been in a single car crash. A Lehigh County home has broken the record for the highest concentration of radon ever measured in a Pennsylvania home. The home, which is in the Center Valley area, registered an astounding 3,715 picocuries per liter.
