He has training as a first responder, but he was acting on instinct. Those are the words used by the young man who pulled Philadelphia police officer, Mark Kimsey from his burning cruiser Saturday evening. Seventeen year old Joe Chambers is being hailed a hero after witnessing an accident involving the police car and another vehicle. Officer Kimsey was trapped inside his burning car when Chambers jumped into action. Officer Kimsey is expected to be okay.

Local teen Joe Chambers has become a hero after saving a cop's life Saturday night. Chambers, along with the help of Dante Johnson, pulled the unconscious Officer Mark Kimsey from his burning vehicle, moments before it exploded. A Philadelphia Police officer was injured Saturday evening in a fiery hit-and-run accident in Grays Ferry. It happened just before 5:30 pm Saturday at 28th and Tasker streets. Officer Mark Kimsey's cruiser was involved in a crash with pickup truck causing the police vehicle to catch fire. Federal kidnapping charges have been filed against Delvin Barnes, the suspect in the abduction of Carlesha Freeland Gaither. Gaither was rescued and Barnes arrested by U.S. Marshals after a coordinated effort by Philadelphia police and the FBI in Jessup Maryland. Barnes has a rap sheet that is over 30 pages long full of charges from Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Underground Old City Fire; Haverford High Football Coach DUI; Armed Robberies NE Philly Video

A ruptured gas main caused a severe underground fire in Old City yesterday. The first signs of the fire were seen around 9 a.m. near 4th and Race streets. The cause is thought to be from a construction crew hitting the main. Luckily it was a smaller 1" low pressure main and not a 8" high pressure pipe. Buildings along Race Street were forced to evacuate. No injuries have been reported and the area is now all clear.

A man and his girlfriend have been charged in the horrific murder of her 3-year-old son inside their trailer home West Caln, Chester County. Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced the arrests of 23-year-old Gary Fellenbaum and 31-year-old Jillian Tait this morning. They are charged with first degree murder and other offenses. The 22 year old woman abducted in Germantown has been rescued and reunited with her family. Carlesha Freeland-Gaither was forced into a car Sunday night in Germantown. A team of U.S. Marshals in Jessup, Maryland apprehended her suspected abductor, Delvin Barnes, a 37 year old who also has an outstanding warrant for attempted murder and other charges in Virginia.

An officer has been wounded after serving a search warrant at a Delaware county home. The shootout occurred on Lafayette Avenue in Collingdale. after 9 officers and some members of the Upper Darby SWAT team visited the home, attempting to investigate a shooting that occurred on October 27th. The 22-year-old abducted Germantown woman has been found safe in Maryland and her kidnapper arrested. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey alongside Special Agent Ed Hanko made the announcement tonight.
