Phillies Home Opener Postponed, SEPTA Strike Looming, North Philadelphia Shooting 11 Year Old

Monday afternoon's game between the Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers has been postponed until Tuesday due to potential rain in the forecast. The Phillies 2014 home opener will now take place Tuesday, April 8th at 4:05 p.m. All tickets for the postponed April 7th game will be honored for entry into Tuesday's game. SEPTA Talks to Avoid Strike, Bartram High Violence, Close Replays Shown at Phillies Games

SEPTA is reporting progress in talks with unions to avoid a possible shutdown on Monday. The sides are discussing a 2 year deal. If a deal is not reached, a shutdown of nearly all mass transit in Southeast Pennsylvania could happen Monday. If a strike happens, only the Regional Rail, Para-Transit and University Loop would remain in service.

The end of another late night TV era was announced on Thursday. "Late Show" host David Letterman has announced that he will be retiring sometime in 2015, when his contract expires. Suspect Fires on Philly Police, Mantua Man Dies in Cambodia, Corbett Health Plan

Philadelphia police have apprehended a suspect who opened fire on them overnight at 69th and Walnut in Upper Darby. The suspect had been driving erratically. When he was pulled over, the man fled on foot after firing shots and dropping the gun, but the police did not return fire and were able to catch up with him. The suspect has an active arrest warrant for a prior violent crime. No injuries were reported.

The Philadelphia Board of Ethics and a political action committee linked to Local 98 of the Electrical Workers' union have settled up on a 2013 investigation into campaign finance reporting violations. The settlement agreement provides for a $1000 fine to be paid jointly by Philadelphia Phuture PAC, and its treasurer, Ed McBride, who had long been associated with Local 98. A carbon monoxide incident at a strip mall in Horsham has sent four people to Abington Memorial Hospital. Five others refused medical treatment. The incident was reported around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the 300 block of Horsham Road. Construction workers were working in a vacant store with gas and propane at the time of the incident.

Police believe they know the trigger man in connection with the murder of a teenager. They are looking for 23 year old Sergio Santiago, believed to have gunned down Joey Antonia Flores inside a third floor apartment on the 1600 block of Wallace Street. Police are asking for witnesses to come forward.

Police in Washington Township are investigating after an employee was injured during a convenience store robbery Monday afternoon. It happened at the Pantry One Food in Sewell. The robbery involved three suspects and two of the suspects were carrying handguns. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an employee had been struck in the face and was bleeding heavily.
