Penn State THON Watch LIVE; Turnpike Pileup Had Many Causes; No Cause of Death Yet for Woman Found

Penn State's annual 46-hour dance marathon simply known as THON will be rocking the Bryce Joyner Center in State College all weekend long. Around 700 Penn State students are official "dancers" that will be on the floor without a break for the entire event. There are 1000's more who lend direct support and those who will simply stop by the stands to join in the fun. Chickie's and Pete's will pay over $8.5 million in back wages and damages to employees for illegally docking tips and failing to pay minimum wage and overtime. The U.S. Labor Department has been investigating on behalf of the sports bar's current and former employees. Chickie's and Pete's payback and fines will be shared among 1,159 employees.

Woman Found At 30th St.; Woman Charged with Election Fraud; City Council Overrides Nutter Veto

A woman was found dead inside a car near 30th Street Station this morning. Police were called to S. 30th street between Market and Chestnut for a report of an unresponsive woman. They found a 22-year-old woman inside a black Nissan. She was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no apparent signs of foul play or cause of death. Authorities are continuing to investigate.

Hite Wants 320 Million to Start, Smoking Ban at NJ Beaches, Philly Ranks 2nd in Taxation

Philadelphia Superintendent William R. Hite has put a price tag on his plan to fix the city school system. $320 million. And that's just to start on his ambitious blueprint. The full plan could cost twice that amount. Hite's request for the 2014-15 school year is above and beyond the $120 million the system is hoping for from the extra 1 percent city sales tax.

PSEG Fire, Philadelphia Orchestra 40/40 Project, Camden Abduction Arrests Made

Crews responded to the scene of a fire in Burlington, NJ on Wednesday. According to PSEG, a small oil fire started at a building that is being demolished. It is not an active plant and has not been in operation for more than a decade. Shortly after 9 p.m., PSEG said the fire has subsided and crews remains on scene. There is no threat to the local area or river and air quality continues to be monitored and remains safe.

The couple from Northeast Philadelphia who believed in faith-healing over modern medicine has been sentenced in the death of their 8-month-old son who died of treatable pneumonia. Herbert and Catherine Schaible were sentenced to 3 ½ to 7 years in prison. The couple plead no contest in the death of their son Brandon last April. Former Philadelphia TV sports anchor Don Tollefson turned himself in to Warminster Police yesterday on charges he scammed more than 100 people out of over $100,000 and duped the Special Olympics, the Salvation Army and a memorial foundation for slain Montgomery County police officer Brad Fox. Ten members, including top leadership, of the Ironworkers Local Union 401 were arrested today. The US Attorney in Philadelphia released an indictment today accusing members of the union of using violence, intimidation, even arson to extort contractors to hire union ironworkers.
