Philadelphia's skyline is about to have some company. Developer Carl Dranoff and an LA based company will be building a 47-story tall hotel and residential building at the corner of Broad and Spruce Streets. The location is the former home to Philadelphia International Records, which was founded by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. It will be called the SLS International Hotel and Residences. The fallout from the Jerry Sandusky scandal continues as the hearing for three people charged in a cover-up begins. The three are former Penn State administrators accused of covering up complaints that Jerry Sandusky was molesting children. Former President, Graham Spanier, Vice President Gary Schultz and Athletic Director Tim Curley are being charged with perjury, obstruction of justice and child endangerment.

Authorities are searching for a Pennsylvania man who escaped police custody after his court hearing on a robbery charge. Daniel Preziosi slipped out of his handcuffs and leg shackles and fled after attending a preliminary hearing in Nazareth on Monday. He allegedly jumped into a Toyota Camry. Police found the car outside a strip club. They say Preziosi’s girlfriend lives in the apartment above the bar but they have not been able to locate her.

72-year-old Kermit Gosnell has been sentenced today in a federal case for illegally distributing OxyContin and other painkillers from his West Philadelphia clinic. He pled guilty to the charges last July. Gosnell would write prescriptions and sell them to dealers and addicts inside his clinic, essentially running a “pill mill”. Snow is already a nasty four letter word this season and we have not even reached the official start of winter. Tuesday may bring another wintry mix to Philadelphia as two separate fast-moving clipper systems impact our weather. The first could produce snow changing to rain in the morning tomorrow and the second could produce some snow showers tomorrow evening. Philadelphia Eagles suffered a pretty pathetic 48-30 loss to the Vikings Sunday snapping the Eagles' five-game winning streak, dropping them to 8-6 with two games left. The Eagles never led. The 48 points was the most scored by the Vikings since 1998 and the most the Eagles have given up this season since their 36-21 victory over the New York Giants. The Shops at Liberty Place played host to the annual Army-Navy Game pep rally. Hundreds of fans and servicemen from both academies crowded into shopping areas to root for their team. Cheerleaders and marching bands kept the excitement going. A police pursuit that started in Delaware County Thursday night ended near the sports complex in South Philadelphia. Tinicum Township Police pursued the vehicle into Philadelphia. Police had a vehicle stopped at Broad Street near the I-95 off ramp. One person was reportedly in custody. The suspects were reportedly wanted for retail theft.
