| A Philadelphia judge has blocked the firing of Bill Marimow as Editor-in-Chief of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The dispute settled in the courtroom by Judge Patricia McInerney made public the bitter brawl between wealthy newspaper co-owners George Norcross and Lewis Katz. The bill that will provide billions more dollars to roads, bridges and mass transit in Pennsylvania is now on its way to Governor Corbett's desk. Motorists will have the option to register vehicles every two years, while registration stickers will be eliminated. Fines for some moving violations will increase and the bill provides for a 70 mile an hour speed limit on some highways.

| A FedEx delivery truck was stolen this afternoon and led police on a chase through the streets of Philadelphia. It began at 1 pm near Ridge and Lehigh Avenues. The suspect ended up crashing the truck at 25th and Willard Streets in the city’s Nicetown section. The truck became wedged between a utility pole and a fence in the rear of a home. New Jersey will test online gambling today at 6 pm. Players have been invited by casinos to test their systems making real money bets online. The test is designed to see if the technology works properly and that gamblers are 21 or over. If all goes well with the test, the system will go live on Tuesday. A 28 day old baby boy that was injured in a crash in Hamilton Township Wednesday afternoon has died. Two females and a five-year-old girl were also injured in the collision. A GMC Sierra truck struck the passenger side of a Hyundai Elantra that was making a left turn onto Whatley Road. An investigation is ongoing and any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Hamilton Police.

| A State Trooper was shot in the arm in Wilmington, Delaware. The 44-year-old trooper has been taken to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center. He is listed in stable condition. Delaware State Police, Wilmington Police, and New Castle County Police are on scene. It happened at 4 p.m. in the area of North Market Street and West 24th Street. It looks like the PA state Senate will consider a major transportation spending proposal now that the House signaled that it would support it. Governor Tom Corbett supports the bill that would raise gasoline taxes and motorist fees to pump an extra $2.3 billion into roads, bridges and transit systems. A Methodist minister has been suspended 30 days for officiating his son's same-sex wedding. Pastor Frank Schaefer was found guilty Monday of violating the United Methodist Church law after he officiated his son's same-sex marriage in Massachusetts. At the end of those 30 days, Schaefer may still have to surrender his ministerial duties if he doesn't reconsider his support of the LGBT community.

| Police have made an arrest in the the murder of a Malvern, PA man. The Chester County District Attorney's Office has identified the suspect as 24-year-old Merritt Dudas. They say he is a longtime friend and neighbor of the victim, 21-year-old Drew Ferguson. Ferguson was found shot dead in his apartment Monday, upstairs in his grandparent's garage on 222 Miner Street. Authorities believe it happened during a dispute over drugs. Dudas used a handgun belonging to his girlfriend's father.Read More |
