Hurricane Sandy is slowly chugging up the East Coast and all models suggest it is getting ready to hang a sharp left once it gets off shore of our area. Currently it looks as if it will make landfall in the Delaware Bay, instead of a direct hit on the Jersey Shore, however that track would expose NJ to the northern side of the storm and its onshore winds and storm surge. However, the exact track could shift north; there are still a few days ahead of us and things could change, stay tuned. Read More

Sandy is hitting the Bahamas as a Category 1 Hurricane with 90 m.p.h. winds. The majority of the hurricane models have Sandy making landfall along or close to the Jersey Shore as a Category 1 storm. The main threat to our area is torrential rain (6-8+ inches), flooding, hurricane force winds (at the shore), hurricane gusts inland, and power outages. If this storm hits the Jersey Shore straight on, it would be a first. Some residents would lose power for weeks, maybe a month.

Two days ago, one Philadelphia TV weather guesser said that it would take a "miracle" for this hurricane to hit our area. Now, the latest track is a hard left for Hurricane Sandy - with her firepower hailing over Little Eden, New Jersey and the greater Philadelphia area next week. Still way too early to say for sure.
