The Jury in the 2010 Northern Liberties murder case of Sabina Rose O'Donnell took little time deliberating this morning. After only a few hours they came back with a guilty verdict on the charge of first-degree murder and four other felonies for 20 year old Donte Johnson. Judge Bronson sentenced him to the maximum life sentence plus 40-80 years.

Upper Darby Man Shot, Ocean City to Stay Dry, Red Light Camera Program

Police are searching for gunmen who shot a man outside his Upper Darby home early this morning. The man returned home just after midnight and was shot seven times while his girlfriend and four year old slept inside. The victim is in critical condition.

Voters in Ocean City New Jersey have decided to keep the town dry, rejecting a proposal that would have let restaurant patrons bring their own wine or beer to enjoy with dinner. The issue is one that has challenged Ocean City for decades. It lost Tuesday by a 2-to-1 ratio. A man was stabbed by a family member in Philadelphia Tuesday night, once in the neck and once under both armpits by his 52-year-old brother inside a residence on North Preston Street.

Broomall Bald Eagle set Free, Duck Boat Trial Halted, Turnpike Could Go 70mph

The young bald eagle discovered shot, hit by a car, and suffering lead poisoning in a Broomall parking lot three weeks ago is now free. Wildlife officials released it on Monday in Ridley Creek State Park. The eagle which spent it's days recovering at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, took off and flew strong on it's first flight. Only it knows where it'll go next.

Testimony continued in the Philadelphia Duck Boat case. Video was shown in court of the moments before the crash. One of the Hungarian students killed, 16 year old Dora Schwendtner is seen tossing a life jacket to the Duck Boat crew mate who jumps into the water just before the collision.

Frankford Homicide Investigation, Delaware Home Buglary Thwarted, Coyote Sighting Again in Radnor

A homicide investigation is underway in the Frankford section of the city where an 18-year-old man was shot in the back and in the right side yesterday. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he later died. The motive in this shooting is not clear at this time. It is not known whether any arrests have been made.

Philadelphia International Cycling Championship Changes, Center City Free Concert Series, NJ Tan Ban

The Philadelphia International Cycling Championship will go through a few changes this year. The professional race will be shortened to 7 instead of 10 trips around the 14.7 mile circuit. Also, an amateur race will be added that encompasses 3 loops around the circuit and up “The Wall” for a $85 entry fee, if you are brave enough. The pro race is going from 156 miles to 124 miles which race officials say is “more in line with what’s happening in cycling today.”Read More

Police are investigating the murder of a 4 month baby after unveiling evidence of abuse on the victim. The Upper Darby boy died in November and now the medical examiner calls the death of Jaden Jones a homicide after the autopsy revealed a broken leg and spinal injuries.

Broad Street Run Ran Perfect, Duck Boat Stalls on Delaware, Eve to Play Kung Fu Necktie

The 33rd annual Broad Street Run was held this morning with perfect running weather, overcast upper 50's and low humidity. The 40,000 participants ran the 10-miler from Central High School in North Philly down to the Navy Yard in South Philly passing by cheering crowds all along the route. The race has grown in popularity recently, partly due to a younger and more active city population, into the largest 10 mile race in the country. The Hindenburg luxury airliner was the pride of Adolf Hitler's Germany. The trans-atlantic dirigible was a part of a fleet of airships that the Nazi nation flew around the world built by the Zeppelin company. On May 6, 1937 the Hindenburg was coming into a routine docking with its air mast at the airfield in Lakehurst, NJ, Ocean County when it suddenly caught fire and was destroyed in seconds as it crashed to the ground.
