Flags are flying at half staff and black bunting adorns the front of Engine 7 as Philadelphia mourns the loss of two Ladder 10 firefighters killed in yesterday's Kensington warehouse fire. Memorials have been set up on several locations for Lieutenant Robert Neary and Daniel Sweeney.

Deadly Kensington Warehouse Fire, South Jersey Pinelands Wildfire, Pressure on Santorum to Pull Out

A warehouse fire in Kensington this morning has taken the lives of two Philadelphia firefighters and two others have been injured. The five alarm blaze caused the building to collapse with firefighters inside.

A 4-year-old boy from the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia was in critical condition and undergoing surgery at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children after shooting himself in the chest. The young boy shot himself once with a loaded handgun that he found underneath a pillow on his mother's bed. His mother was at home at the time, just before 7pm Saturday, and heard the shot while she was downstairs. She called police who rushed the boy to the hospital. The 23-year-old mother keeps the... Jim Herr, founder of Herr Foods, passes at age 87

Jim Herr, founder of Herr Foods Inc., died last night at his home in West Nottingham, PA. He was years old. He is survived by his wife Miriam of 65 years, 5 children, 20 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Herr had contracted pneumonia last summer. This past December he developed a more serious pneumonia that made it difficult to swallow food or liquid. He passed surrounded by family.

According to the Census Bureau, Philadelphia and the surrounding counties' population all continued to grow since the 2010 National census. The 2010 Census was the first since 1950 that Philadelphia showed an increase. From April 2010 to July 2011 they estimate that the population of Philadelphia County had an increase of 10,465 people or a +0.7 percent jump. Bloomfield, known to neighbors as The Old Ewing Estate, a huge historic Mail Line mansion was destroyed by a fire yesterday. The Villanova estate had 19 bedrooms, 12 and a half baths in over 22,000 square feet. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The estate served as the set for a movie called "Safe" to be released later this month. The mansion was located on S. Ithan Ave near Villanova's South Campus.
