The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards tonight were moved back an hour so that everyone could switch over and watch President Obama's Democratic National Convention speech. I wonder how many people actually made the switch, or just stayed on to watch the immediate replay of the awards. Sean Penn is one of the only celebrities that kept raising money for Haiti once everyone else ceased. As much of the money raised after the Earthquake never reached Haiti, they are still in a great deal of need. Sean Penn makes regular trips down there to do hands-on relief and has been active with many mission teams. He just finished putting together a charity Gala at the Cannes Film Festival in France which raised millions of dollars in proceeds.

Bruce Springsteen played another sold out show Monday night at Citizens' Bank Park September 3nd, 2012. This was the second of two nights he is playing in Philadelphia this Labor Day Weekend. Despite the rain both nights, Bruce fans came out and were treated to another great one from The Boss.

Jay-Z's Labor Day Made in America Festival Schedule Released

The Made in America Festival schedule has been announced for Labor Day Weekend. One notable cancelation is Chris Cornell due to a scheduling conflict. He'll be performing at an Obama fundraiser/ rally in Iowa on Saturday and can't make it to Philly for MIA on Sunday. That means no Temple of the Dog reunion with Pearl Jam.

Madonna starts the North American leg of her MDNA tour tonight in Philadelphia. She will be taking over the Wells Fargo Center tonight at 8pm.

Last night, Doylestown's Circa Survive started their CD release tour at Union Transfer in Philadelphia. The Christimas Lights and Bear Hands opened the show. Their 4th studio album, Violent Waves, will officially be released on August 28th but physical and digital copies were available for purchase at their show.

Madonna Sued for $10 Million in Moral Damages in Russia

Originally only fined for 5,000 Rubles ($150), the popstar is now being sued for moral damages by hardliners in Russia after the conviction of Pussy Riot. During a concert in St. Petersburg, Madonna showed her support for the LGBT community by saying “show your love and appreciation to the gay community.” Pink wristbands were distributed to attendees and Madonna wore a black bra with the words “No Fear” on her back.
