There's nothing like the feeling you get when you've just picked up some new music that you haven't heard yet. A certain level of anticipation as you unwrap the plastic from that CD, tape, record and pull it out of it's case/cover. Put it into the player, lay down the needle, or cue up the track. Then you hit play and the sounds come through the speakers for the first time. It's a reward, this took some effort to obtain. It wasn't a point and click download. You had to go somewhere, walk around... Read More

Former Villanova Forward, Will Sheridan, Releases Music Video

I've always liked the NCAA commercials that say how there are 400,000 student-athletes and most will be professional in something other than sports. As a former NCAA athlete myself, I'm obviously not making a living as a professional cross country runner. Most college sports don't have pro leagues that can even offer the chance at a career or only pay enough to the top few. Basketball is one that does pay very well, and for a lot of talent coming out of college there is very good money to be... Read More

Charlie Sheen - Tragic Comedy

  by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA
started: 03/11/11 9:58 am | updated: 03/11/11 9:58 am

Charlie Sheen has been fired. A popular TV show, Two and a Half Men may or may not be over, depending on the producers' decision to replace him, continue on without the Charlie character, or just let the show end. With all the money involved it is not likely the show will go quietly. As for Charlie Sheen the man, he will likely continue to be the subject of comedy skits and late night monologues until it is tragically, no longer funny. If you've seen Sheen interviewed recently you may be... Read More

Lindsay Lohan Media Frenzy

  by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA
started: 02/25/11 3:17 pm | updated: 02/25/11 3:17 pm

Actress, Lindsay Lohan was back in court for a felony count of grand theft for allegedly stealing a $2500 necklace. Serious charges. The judge was very firm with her. If found guilty, she will do hard time. But what is the most intriguing aspect of this case? Her outfits she wears to court. First a super-tight white mini-dress. Then white slacks and a plunging black top revealing way too much cleavage. Is white even appropriate for court? Such a crime. When will Lindsay Lohan ever... Read More

And the Grammy goes to ...

  by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA
started: 02/14/11 1:05 am | updated: 02/14/11 1:05 am

Tonight's big winners are country crossover stars Lady Antebellum, powered by their song "Need You Now". They took home 5 little record player statues, including both Song and Record of the Year. Somehow they got to perform that song 2 years in a row on the show. Arguably, last year's performance launched them on the road to success this past year.

Other big winners include Philly's own The Roots, whose collaborative work with John Legend earned 3 awards in R&B categories. The... Read More
