Philadelphia Police have arrested a homeless man for attacking a woman jogging in the Spring Garden section of the city on Tuesday evening, 10/8. 43-year-old Prevarious Fowler is charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. It happened around 6 p.m. on the 2200 block of Wallace Street. The 30-year-old woman was jogging along. Fowler was outside of Liberti Fairmount Church going through trash bags. The Philadelphia Phillies have fired Gabe Kapler after two seasons as manager. Kapler led the team to a 161-163 overall record. This year's 81-81 record was below expectations for a club that added several All-Stars to the roster. A Sixers fan and his wife were ejected from last night's, 10/8, preseason game at the Wells Fargo Center seemingly for showing support for Hong Kong. 33-year-old Sam Wachs attended the Philadelphia 76ers' exhibition games against the Guangzhou Loong Lions on Tuesday night, 10/8. They sat in section 124 behind the Guangzhou bench and were holding small signs that read "Free Hong Kong" and "Free HK." Philadelphia Police uncovered a cockfighting ring while serving an unrelated warrant early Tuesday morning, 10/8, in Kensington. Police went to serve a homicide warrant around 6:30 a.m. at an abandoned home on the 3100 block of Weymouth Street. Inside the house, they found dozens of caged roosters and a bedroom they believe was used for fighting. More roosters were found in the basement of the occupied house next door. Philadelphia Police have arrested a man who attempted to lure an 11-year-old girl in Northeast Philadelphia on Monday evening, 10/7. It happened around 6:30 p.m. near the Jardel Recreation Center on the 1400 block of Cottman Avenue.
