A Philadelphia Police Academy cadet collapsed and was rushed to the hospital on Friday morning, 1/4. The 41-year-old recruit had just finished a running exercise at the Police Training Center in Northeast Philadelphia. Other cadets revived him before he was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital. Officials believed he suffered a heart attack. He is expected to be okay.

| A Philadelphia Highway Patrol officer is in critical condition after his motorcycle was struck by another vehicle in Northeast Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon, 1/3. | A teenage girl in North Philadelphia has been charged after she placed her newborn baby in the trash. The baby was found on New Year's Eve and was pronounced dead at the hospital. 15-year-old Jani Morris, of the 2200 block of Lehigh Avenue, has been charged as an adult. | A man is in the hospital following an accident while climbing a statue on Eakins Oval on Tuesday afternoon, 1/1. It happened around 4 p.m. on the 2600 block of Benjamin Franklin Parkway. | Remains of wooden ship wreck appeared on the beach in Stone Harbor, Cape May County, over the weekend before Christmas. A local historian believes the 25-foot-long vessel could be the D. H. Ingraham. It was a schooner heading to Richmond, Virginia loaded with a shipment of limes. In 1886, a fire broke out and five crew members were rescued. There is no way to know for sure.
