A suicidal mother and her 2-year-old child are injured after jumping out of a 2-stroy window in North Philadelphia this morning. It happened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 2000 block of Diamond St. The 2-year-old was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and is in critical condition. Officials at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey have now come up with a plan to help fix the campus' problem with lead-tainted water in many of the dormitories. The University had the water tested on campus and lead-tainted water was found in nine older residence halls. University officials will be installing filters into the affected sinks in the buildings during the school's spring break next week as temporary fix until the main source of the lead-tainted water is found. A fire at a PECO substation in North Philadelphia is causing power outages for thousands and traffic gridlock in the area. It started around 2 p.m. on the 2600 block of West Westmoreland Street. Over 32,000 customers have lost power and many traffic lights are out causing problems on the streets. Heavy smoke could be seen rising from the station. Philadelphia Police are searching for a missing 5-year-old boy from Kensington and his 60-year-old step-grandfather. Naair Thomas was reported missing on Monday night after he failed to come home with his grandfather Stewart Gertman. Thomas lives with Gertman. A four-alarm fire broke out at the Aquahab Physical Therapy Center adjacent to the AFC Fitness Center in Northeast Philadelphia this morning. Around 400 nurses and other medical staff are now on strike at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill. Dozens of the nurses and staff protested outside of the hospital on Sunday.
