Hurricane Sandy's effects on the Jersey shore this year has the space limited for renters. Hurricane Sandy made people more aware of the shore. It gives them happiness to know they can still enjoy the shore this summer even after the disaster. The difference is many of the renters are only staying for two weeks or a month and not for a full-season. There are different areas in South Jersey that have different opinions. Philadelphia has joined 34 other cities across the country that would like to host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Mayor Michael Nutter submitted the bid on Monday and is honored that Philly is being considered. Philadelphia was considered for the 2016 Olympics that were ultimately awarded to Rio de Janeiro.

A pedestrian was struck and killed on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in King of Prussia on Monday night. It was about 10:45 p.m. last night on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Allendale Road overpass in Upper Merion Township where the person was fatally struck by a tractor trailer. The driver of the tractor trailer stopped at the scene. There is no word on what caused the incident.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was formally charged in the Boston Marathon bombing on Monday. A magistrate judge went to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to conduct the initial court appearance for Tsarnaev who is in serious condition with gunshot wounds to his throat and leg. He is unable to speak and can only respond by writing. Two children are recovering in the hospital after a fire at an apartment in Montgomery County in Norristown. Firefighters arrived to find two toddlers inside a first floor bedroom in the rear of the apartment. They say the children, twin boys, were home alone. The boys were airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia while firefighters brought the blaze under control. Officials say the children suffered smoke inhalation and burns to their throats.

His plan comes after receiving a report from a blue ribbon task force he created to examine gun violence and its causes after the Newtown, CT shootings. After a day long manhunt that shutdown the city of Boston and its surrounding suburbs, authorities have apprehended the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is alive and in custody. He was taken at around 8:45 pm after a standoff at a home in Watertown, MA. One bomb suspect is dead and a second is still on the run this evening. The entire city of Boston has been on lockdown today as authorities search for 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The city of Boston went on lockdown early this morning. One of the bombing suspects is dead and the second is being pursued. Schools are closed, mass transit has been shut down and people are being urged to stay home. The suspects are believed to have robbed a convenience store, shot and killed an MIT police officer.
