PECO officials are warning locals to protect themselves from a string of recent scams targeting their customers. The suspects are calling customers disguised as PECO employees saying that their electric will be cut off unless a payment is made. PECO has stated that none of the calls could be them as they would never demand money on the spot. If you come across one of these imposters, officials ask that you contact your local police.

| A New Jersey man has been arrested after a meth lab was discovered in his Atlantic City hotel room following a fire on Wednesday morning. 49-year-old Michael Pillar of Whiting has been charged with maintaining a controlled dangerous substance production facility, possession of methamphetamine and criminal mischief. | A former student opened fire at a South Florida high school on Wednesday afternoon killing at least 17 people. It happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL, about 45 miles north of Miami. Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel says 19-year-old suspect Nikolaus Cruz is in custody. | An employee of the pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. has been accused of stealing potassium cyanide for use as rodent killer. The Montgomery County district attorney's office reported that 60-year-old Richard O'Rourke stole around 220 grams of the chemical from the lab located in Upper Gwynedd Township.
