96th Parade on Thanksgiving Day; Black Friday Begins the Season; Players, Coaches Support Chip Kelly

For the 96th time, crowds gathered on Thanksgiving morning in Philadelphia for the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Thousands lined JFK Boulevard and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the event - the nation's oldest Thanksgiving Day parade. A sea of people stretched all the way to the Art Museum steps. They were entertained by Grammy winner Dionne Warwick, students from the Creative and Performing Arts High School and of course, Santa Claus brought up the rear.

Pennsylvania State Trooper Patrick Casey, who was shot yesterday during a chase on I-676, has been released from Hahnemann University Hospital. 31-year-old Casey was hit in the shoulder while pursuing a teen following a traffic stop. Today is getaway day. The day before Thanksgiving is typically the busiest travel day of the year. At 30 Street Station and the airport extra security was obvious this morning amid terror threats this holiday. Additional patrolmen and K-9 units are on the scene at both locations. Plan a little extra time for security screenings and for extra volume on the highways as drivers enjoy the lowest gas prices in years.

Pennsylvania State Police say a 17-year-old who was in a car stopped for a traffic violation shot a state trooper during a Tuesday morning chase on the Vine Street Expressway that ended in a fiery crash involving a school bus. A Pennsylvania State Trooper was shot and injured this morning during a shootout and chase on I-676 that ended in a fiery crash. It started when two troopers pulled over a vehicle for expired tags on I-76 westbound near University Ave around 10 am. The four male occupants were told to get out. A Russian warplane was shot down by Turkey this morning. Turkish officials claim it had violated Turkish airspace and ignored repeated warnings. Russia denied that the plane crossed the Syrian border into Turkish skies. Russia claims the plane was over the Syrian territory throughout the flight. One pilot parachuted from the plane however photos have surfaced of a Russian pilot, possibly dead, surrounded by Syrian rebels.

Philadelphia Police are asking the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect who punched a cab driver in the face and fled without paying the fare. At 3:48 am on October 31st the 62-year-old taxi cab driver picked up a man and women dressed as the Incredibles at Front and Spring Garden and drove them to a 7-Eleven on the 5800 block of Ridge Avenue in Roxborough. A suspected drunk driver slammed into the back of a police cruiser on I-95 early Monday morning in Northeast Philadelphia. It happened around 2:20 a.m. in the southbound lanes between the Cottman Street and Bridge Street exits. Authorities say Philadelphia police were assisting state police with a previous accident when a man driving a black SUV rear-ended a patrol car.
