Plans right now are to move forward with disbanding the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police department. The East Goshen board of supervisors indicated contingency plans are being considered. Options include being covered by the state police or starting a new police department and residents want to know how much a new department would cost. Supervisors indicated reaching a deal is still possible and disbanding the regional police department may not be necessary.

| A Commonwealth Court judge issued a temporary injunction today against the controversial Voter ID law. The injunction will prevent the full law from going into effect for the upcoming election. Registered voters will not be required to have a valid ID in order to fill out a ballot on election day Nov. 6. A Commonwealth Court judge issued a temporary injuction today blocking part of the Voter ID law from taking effect before the November general elections. Registered voters will not have to present the identification listed in the controversial law in order to cast a ballot on Nov. 6. Judge Robert E. Simpson Jr. rejected the notion that the offending activity was simply asking a voter for ID, but rather potential voter disenfranchisement if they could not produce an ID.

'Rusty water' has appeared in the area after crews performed routine maintenance on water pipes in University City. A pet food drive in Camden County, New Jersey begins today.
The goal is to collect enough food to feed all of the animals in Camden County’s three shelters for two days. The hope is to use the money that would typically be used to feed these animals for that two day period to cover key operating expenses, do upgrades and other things. Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge M. Theresa Sarmina issued a stay of execution for condemned killer Terrance Williams today. Williams had been scheduled to die by lethal injection next Wednesday, October 3rd.
Yesterday the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons voted 4-1 to rehear Williams clemency request. Two weeks ago the board voted 3-2 against recommending clemency in his case. After yesterday's vote the board decided to wait until Judge Sarmina's decision to act further. Read More |
